Giant African Land Snails:
Names: Shelly, Sheldon, Turbo, and Cecil
Gender: Hermaphrodites
Ages: Young
Status: Available
Health: Not the best shell quality and some minor fractures to the shell which will recover with good husbandry
Notes: GALS require an enclosure with controlled temperature and humidity. Secure and ventilated plastic tub or glass enclosure will be sufficient. Temp must be around 24-30c; additional heating will likely be required; ensure a heat strip is hooked up to a thermostat on the side of the enclosure. Deep substrate is essential. Diet containing calcium from cuttlebones and calcium rich vegetation is prudent. Good hygiene when working with GALS is required as they can transfer harmful diseases to humans. If cohabiting snails an effective culling technique for the eggs must be carried out. Evidence of additional research will be required.
Minimum donation: £1 per snail or £3.50 for entire group.
